An infusion patient’s journey can be one of stress and confusion, made worse by environments that are uncomfortable and not designed for their needs. Patients undergoing infusion and chemotherapy often want something between the open infusion space and the closed, private-room setting.
Our new Infusion Center (located in the CMH/OHSU Cancer Care Center) is a comfortable space designed to improve the experience of patients receiving infusion services. We’ve designed a space that relieves some of the stress involved in receiving this care. We try to provide a more comfortable, homelike environment with every aspect of our space, from the warmth of the fireplace, light from the windows, to the art from our own Clatsop Community College.
While you're here, enjoy all of the amenities we have to offer including: TV, quiet, music, massage, aromatherapy, wireless internet and room service.
Each of the nine chairs in the unit is provided with a Portable DVD/CD player so each patient can privately view movies of their choosing or listen to their own music. The chairs also have a reading light and can easily be moved to allow for visitors during the infusion process.
Our staff is made up of highly trained, oncology certified nurses, the infusion facility offers IV treatments for patient's receiving chemotherapy as well as many other services including:
- Central line catheter placement and care
- Intravenous therapies (to include antibiotics, iron replacement)
- IV anti-nausea care
- Intramuscular and subcutaneous injections
- Transfusion of blood products (red blood cells, plasma, platelets)
