CMH Foundation
Columbia Memorial Hospital has offered excellence in health care for nearly 150 years. Your support for the CMH Foundation ensures that we can continue to offer the highest quality of care to the thousands of community members who entrust us with their health every year.
As a not-for-profit hospital, CMH relies on financial support from our community. Your gifts fund new, innovative technologies and programs, expanding our health services to meet the growing health care needs in our region and supporting our team of health care providers and caregivers.
Featured campaign: Friendship Fund
Hey you guys! March is Friendship Fund month at CMH, complete with a fun Goonies theme this year. This month, caregivers come together to support the Friendship Fund with the CMH Foundation.
The Friendship Fund was created to help CMH caregivers who are in immediate need of financial support due to a crisis or other unexpected event. Donations from CMH caregivers primarily support the Friendship Fund, although some outside donors do partake in giving, as well.
This month, you can support the Friendship Fund and CMH caregivers by participating in a variety of optional fundraisers, including:
- Purchasing Roses of Gratitude for CMH caregivers
- Giving toward the Administrator Dress-Up Day (Which executive will dress up as a Goonies character for a day?!)
- Donating or purchasing art from the Art Auction
- Completing a March Madness bracket
- Giving through payroll deduction
The Friendship Fund was established in 2016 for caregivers in emergent financial need through no fault of their own. Volunteer committee members review anonymous applications, compare with policy and vote to approve. The fund donated $24,500 to caregivers in 2022.

Featured campaign: A team effort for community
With the challenges life throws at us, at times even the strongest need help to keep going. And we all, as individuals, face these difficulties in different ways. It's why, for generations, we at Columbia Memorial Hospital have been offering person-centered care to our community.
To meet your exact needs in the best way possible, in an ever-changing health care environment, we're always looking to improve on what we do.
We’re excited to have partnered with Buffalo Bills safety Jordan Poyer, an alumnus of our own Astoria High School, to demonstrate the need for access to quality, future-ready health care in a rural area.
Your support makes a difference
Because 100% of donations go directly toward sustaining and improving CMH's health care programs and services, your gift to the Foundation has the potential to directly help your Clatsop County community. Your help can be life-changing for the many patients and families who are treated at CMH each year.
Your donations also help us meet our goals of sustainability and legacy. Gifts made to the Foundation support CMH's work now and in the future, guaranteeing access to excellent care for generations of patients to come.
Ways you can support CMH
At the CMH Foundation, we know that making a gift can be a very personal decision. We work with all our donors to understand their priorities and aspirations. This way, we can ensure that every gift has the most meaningful impact for both our community and our philanthropic partners.
If you make an unrestricted gift, your donation goes where it is most needed. Often, this means funding to support our innovative facilities and services or our expert medical staff. We also raise funds for specific health care services, like hospice care, or specific groups of people, including those undergoing cancer treatment or caregivers working with CMH patients. Or you might give a gift to honor a health care provider or caregiver who made a difference for you or a family member.
Whatever your priorities are when making a donation to CMH, the Foundation will work with you to ensure that your gift has the greatest impact possible.
