You don't have to quit tobacco alone.

This spring and summer, CMH will offer a free tobacco stay quit support group.

The support group is for those who are working on staying quit from tobacco products and vaping — including cigarettes, spit tobacco, cigars, pipes, and vaping/electronic cigarettes. The group will be led by Alissa Dorman, CMH's tobacco cessation coordinator and certified tobacco treatment specialist.

"I am looking forward to facilitating this tobacco support group," Dorman says. "It has been something I've been thinking about coordinating for quite a while and I'm glad it will be starting in March."

Participants will be able to share and ask questions regarding staying quit. Members will also talk about relapse prevention tips and tricks.

The program will be held from March 2 through Aug. 31 in CMH's Coho Conference Room, located at 2021 Marine Drive in Astoria. Meetings will be held from noon to 1 p.m. on the first Thursday each month, and from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on the last Thursday of each month.
