Endocrinology
If you have diabetes or another endocrine disorder, you don't have to leave Astoria to get exceptional care.
The CMH-OHSU Health Endocrinology Clinic is home to a board-certified endocrinologist who specializes in treating and managing problems that affect the endocrine system, which is made up of organs like the pancreas, thyroid and other organs that respond to, modify or metabolize hormones.
Our endocrinologist will give you the education and information you need to thrive. This may include medications, help with lifestyle changes, and referrals to other specialists and programs. We're your partners in health care, and we're committed to be there for you throughout your health journey.
When you need a diabetes doctor or a thyroid expert
Two conditions we often help people with are:
Diabetes. If you need a diabetes doctor to help you control the disease, your primary care provider may refer you to an endocrinologist.
Our specialist can help you change your diet, take new medicines and check your blood sugar. They will also coordinate your care with our CMH Diabetes Education and Medical Nutrition Therapy specialists. Those program offices are located right here at the Endocrinology Clinic.
Thyroid disorders. Do you have a thyroid disease, such as hyperthyroidism or hypothyroidism? Our specialist can help you manage the ups and downs of the disorder with medications.
Other conditions we treat include
- Adrenal disorders.
- Calcium disorders.
- Cholesterol problems.
- Hypogonadism.
- Osteoporosis.
- Pituitary disorders.
