Addressing CMH Outpatient Pharmacy challenges
Dear patients,
A few weeks ago, the CMH Outpatient Pharmacies began transitioning to a new computer system. We have encountered unexpected and ongoing challenges with the new mobile app and prescription notification process.
We sincerely apologize for any issues that have affected you. Unfortunately, the app is not functioning as anticipated, and we understand how frustrating this has been for our patients and their family members. We are grateful for the kindness our caregivers have received as we have been working through system changes.
Prescription Notifications – Now Working
Text message, phone and email notifications are now working to let you know when your prescriptions are ready for pick-up. This should help reduce uncertainty and unnecessary trips to the pharmacies.
RxLocal App Update
We have made the decision to temporarily turn off the RxLocal mobile app to resolve current issues and ensure a reliable experience in the future. Our goal is to stabilize and improve the system before bringing the app back online. We anticipate this will take approximately 3–4 months.
How to Request Prescription Refills
While the app is unavailable, please use one of the following options to request refills:
- Call the pharmacy and enter your prescription number using our automated phone system.
Astoria: 503.338.4560
Seaside: 503.738.3006 - If you are unable to complete your request through the automated system, please contact the pharmacy directly using the phone tree, or stop by in person, and a team member will be happy to assist you.
Upcoming Closures and Pharmacy Update
We also want to let you know about upcoming pharmacy one-day closures:
- Saturday, Dec. 20: Both Astoria and Seaside Pharmacies closed for inventory.
- Saturday, Jan. 3: Astoria Pharmacy closed to move across the hall to expanded and remodeled space.
We will be sending a separate mass text message to pharmacy patients prior to the app being turned off later this week to ensure they are aware of this change.
We know our community expects more from us. Our pharmacy team remains committed to providing safe, reliable and high-quality care, and we truly appreciate your partnership as we work through these improvements.
Sincerely,
