Clinic offering head and neck specialty services not offered in the area for a decade

ASTORIA, Ore. — Board-certified otolaryngologist Dr. Justin Holt at the CMH-OHSU Health Ear, Nose & Throat Clinic will start seeing patients in Astoria on July 8.

For more than a decade, the North Coast community has not had access to ear, nose and throat specialty services in the region. The clinic will offer treatment for:

  • Nasal obstruction
  • Hearing loss
  • Thyroid nodules
  • Recurrent ear, sinus, and tonsil infections
  • Trouble swallowing
  • Voicing issues
  • Sleep apnea
  • Tumors of the ears, nose, throat, and neck

Patients do not need a referral to be seen in the clinic and can self-refer. Appointments can be made now by calling 503.338.4517. We appreciate your patience as we have been receiving hundreds of calls in the past few days.

Faxed or internal Cerner referrals may be sent now. Referrals from external providers can be faxed to 503-338-4521.

Meet the provider
Dr. Holt, who has been practicing in the Portland metro area and The Dalles for the last 10 years, moved to Astoria recently to start the new clinic. He is excited to bring the ENT specialty back to the coast.

“I love that there are virtually no limitations on the types of patients that I can serve (since essentially everybody has an ear, nose and/or a throat),” Dr. Holt says. “And, I enjoy the challenge that comes with managing the broad scope of ENT-related problems and with being prepared to offer multiple treatment options (medical and/or surgical) for each issue.”

Dr. Holt graduated from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed a head and neck surgery residency with Oregon Health & Science University in Portland.

Clinic location
The ENT Clinic will be located in the CMH Professional Office Building I at 2055 Exchange St., Ste. 210, in Astoria. That is the former Pulmonology Clinic office. The office can be accessed through the hospital’s (main) West Lobby. After its opening on July 8, it will be open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Pulmonology Clinic moves across Exchange Street
With the ENT Clinic opening in its old space, the CMH-OHSU Health Pulmonology & Sleep Medicine Clinic has moved across Exchange Street, to the east side of the Park Medical Building.

Its new address is 2158 Exchange St., Ste. 302, Astoria. It began seeing patients in the new space on Monday, June 23.
