Expansion increases access to cardiovascular care for South County patients

To improve access to care, the CMH-OHSU Health Cardiology Clinic has expanded its services to Seaside, addressing a growing need for local cardiovascular care.

Patients interested in being seen in Seaside can request appointments directly, and scheduling staff are proactively offering this option to those who live closer to Seaside. Dr. Kevin Wei will be the primary cardiologist seeing patients on Mondays and Tuesdays at the CMH-OHSU Health Medical Group Clinic in Seaside, located in the Seaside Outlet Mall (1111 N. Roosevelt Dr., Ste. 210, Seaside).

Patients traveling from areas like Tillamook and Cannon Beach will benefit from reduced travel times and the convenience of receiving care closer to home. The Seaside location also offers lab services, allowing patients to receive multiple types of care in one visit.

This expansion was initiated by the vision of Dr. Diana Rinkevich, founding cardiologist in the clinic, and the support of the CMH leadership team. Key contributions came from the Business Intelligence team, including Liz Rathfon, project manager, Crystal Bridgeman, Cardiology Clinic manager, Jeanette Schacher, Medical Group director, Misty Ingram, Medical Group director, Will Sullivan, payor contract analyst, and others. Their hard work will help ensure that patients in South Clatsop County and further will have easier access to cardiology care.

While the Seaside location can offer a wide range of cardiology services, it does not currently provide stress testing. However, the clinic plans to expand its offerings in the coming year, with new services like echocardiograms to further meet patient needs. CMH is also exploring the possibility of adding more appointment days based on demand.
