CMH welcomes new providers in Emergency, Radiology and Urgent Care

CMH is pleased to have Sergio Camba, MD, Jon Ekstrom, MD, and Tonya Frederick, FNP-C, join the organization as new providers.

Sergio Camba, MD: Emergency Department
Sergio Camba, MD, is a new physician in the CMH Emergency Department. He recently worked at the OHSU Emergency Department in Portland, where he completed his fellowship in emergency medicine.

Dr. Camba earned his medical degree from St. George’s University in Grenada, West Indies, and completed his residency at St. Joseph’s University Medical Center in Paterson, New Jersey. Before going to medical school, Dr. Camba worked as an emergency medical technician and first aid instructor in the Seattle area. He is fluent in Spanish and English.

Jon Ekstrom, MD: Imaging Services

Jon Ekstrom, MD, is a new radiologist in CMH Imaging Services. Since 1989, Dr. Ekstrom has worked at Radiology Associates in Eugene, Oregon. He previously served as president of the organization.

Dr. Ekstrom earned his medical degree from OHSU. He completed an internship at Tucson Hospital in Tucson, Arizona, a residency in diagnostic radiology and fellowship in pediatric radiology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver, and another fellowship in MRI, CT and ultrasound from the University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle.

For four years, Dr. Ekstrom has been a member of the Foundation Board of Directors for the Oregon Institute of Technology. He is also chairman of the LIPA Osteoporosis Committee.

Tonya Frederick, FNP-C: Urgent Care

Tonya Frederick, FNP-C, is a board-certified nurse practitioner in the CMH Urgent Cares in Astoria, Seaside and Warrenton. She previously worked in the clinics from 2021-2023. Most recently, she was director of nursing for HSC Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth.

Frederick earned her master’s in nursing and, family nurse practitioner degree from Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, California. She also completed a primary care psychiatry fellowship program at the University of California at Irvine/Davis and a bachelor’s degree in nursing at California State University - Los Angeles.

Frederick is passionate about providing quality patient care and collaborating with other providers and staff to improve patient outcomes.
