New provider joins CMH-OHSU Health Primary Care Clinic – Astoria
Katie George, PA-C, returns to the area to work as primary care provider
Please join us in welcoming Katie George, PA-C, back to CMH, where she will work as a primary care provider in the CMH-OHSU Health Primary Care Clinic – Astoria.
Katie earned her physician assistant degree from Oregon Health & Science University. She also earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry and molecular biology from Lewis & Clark College in Portland.
Prior to furthering her schooling, she worked at CMH for three years as a patient care technician in the Emergency Department.
"I am originally from the area and grew up in Knappa," Katie says. "I worked in the emergency department at CMH for over three years prior to PA school and it has been my goal to return and work in this community. I am thrilled to be trusted with the health of my neighbors as a primary care provider in Astoria."
Katie's professional interests include family medicine, rural health, women's health and mental health. Her work has been recognized by Scholars for a Healthy Oregon Initiate Scholarship Recipient, as well as the Area Health Education Centers Scholar program.
Katie is a member of the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA), the American Academy of Physician Assistants and the Oregon Society of Physician Assistants. She is certified by NCCPA.
