24/7 in-hospital breastfeeding help
Our labor and delivery staff nurses are trained in breastfeeding. They can offer bedside support around the clock when your baby is born.
Our board-certified lactation consultant (IBCLC) sees new parents in the CMH Family Birth Center and offers outpatient lactation appointments four days a week at the CMH-OHSU Health Obstetrics and Gynecology Clinic. To make an appointment please call 503.338.7595.
Breast milk donation
If additional breastmilk is needed for a newborn, CMH has donor breastmilk available for those parents who deliver at CMH while they are in the hospital.
The Northwest Mother's Milk Bank makes breast milk donation a reality in our community. This nourishment is especially vital for premature and ill babies. CMH is pleased to be a milk donation drop-off site. If you'd like to become a milk donor, please start by visiting https://www.donatemilk.org/donate-milk to learn more.
