CMH recognized with numerous awards

2023 was a productive year for CMH, as the hospital was honored to receive several certifications and awards. These included:

  • The American College of Radiology (ACR) awarded a three-year accreditation for the CMH-OHSU Knight Cancer Collaborative. Along with the ACR recognition, the Cancer Collaborative has been accredited by the prestigious Commission on Cancer since 2020.
  • CMH-OHSU Health Primary Care Clinic – Astoria was designated as a 5-Star Patient-Centered Primary Care Home by the Oregon Health Authority. Previously, the clinic was recognized as a Tier 4 clinic. The recent additions of clinical pharmacy and psychiatric nurse practitioner visits allowed the clinic to be designated as the higher, 5-Star level of recognition.
  • Our entire facility received re-accreditation through the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC). ACHC is an organization certified by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to ensure hospitals caring for Medicaid patients meet patient safety and quality requirements. Accreditation shows that CMH complies with national standards and facilitates a higher level of performance and patient care.
  • CMH received its fourth re-certification as a Planetree gold facility. The gold certification is the highest level of achievement and recognizes CMH’s commitment to excellence in evidence-based, person-centered care. CMH is one of 96 organizations to achieve gold status and the only Oregon facility to earn the accolade. It is only one of six organizations worldwide to be certified four or more times. During the 2023 Planetree Conference, security officer Jesse Kirkendall received a Caregiver of the Year Award and Patient Experience department manager Kristen Moss received her recertification as a Fellow in Person-Centered Care.

We look forward to continuing to maintain these honors and provide patients with excellent care.
