Expanding and remodeling our spaces in 2024

In December, CMH announced the completion of a major remodel to the Specialty Clinic on the third floor of the Health & Wellness Pavilion.

The remodel increased space for Foot & Ankle, Orthopedic and Urology Clinic caregivers and patients. It was designed to accommodate growing demand for services and allows for the addition of new providers, enhancing the clinic’s ability to offer more timely access to care for patients.

Key features of the remodel:

  • Expanded space for growth: The remodel created additional space for the Foot & Ankle Clinic, Orthopedic Clinic and Urology Clinic, allowing these departments to accommodate an increased number of providers and patients.
  • Updated and enhanced facilities: A second X-ray machine was added, as well as expanded sterile processing space, enabling more in-office procedures to be performed in Urology.
  • Improved workspaces: The updated design included more storage, expanded staff offices and additional workstations for medical assistants, nurses and providers, improving workflow efficiency and staff collaboration.
  • Modernized aesthetics: The clinic’s appearance was refreshed with updated colors and finishes, providing a more welcoming and comfortable environment for both patients and staff. The space had not seen a major renovation since it was originally built in 2009-2010.
  • Convenient check-in process: Patients still check in for all Orthopedic, Urology and Podiatry appointments at a single, central location at the main desk on the third floor.

In 2023, the Specialty Clinic saw 6,276 patients, and there were 18,621 visits. By expanding the space and capabilities, we will better meet the needs of our growing patient base, with faster access to services and procedures.

Future clinic expansions
In late 2024, we began moving forward with an expansion of our Warrenton Clinic, taking over the space formerly occupied by Farmer’s Insurance. We also started planning for an expansion of the Pulmonology Clinic into the Park Medical Building in Astoria, which will allow us to offer more sleep medicine services and add a provider.

We plan to complete both projects in 2025.
