Recognizing and engaging our caregivers in 2024

Last year, CMH’s Human Resources and Organizational Development department continued to share why caregivers “Love What They Do” and encourage a positive outlook on employment at CMH by holding six events throughout the year.

HR’s kudos card program resulted in 764 kudos cards passed to caregivers by their colleagues. The cards are a way to say “thank you” and appreciate all caregivers do for each other. HR also started a kudos coin program as another way to thank teammates.

The DEI Calendar was launched, offering a new way for caregivers to interact with and learn about different holidays and cultural celebrations throughout the year.

There were 214 new (external) caregivers hired in 2024. Year one of the Professional Nurse Clinical Ladder was completed, CMH implemented the High Potential Program and Mentorship Program for leaders, and the Medical Assistant Internship Program and New Hire Buddy Program were started for new caregivers.

In May, an expansion of counseling services for CMH caregivers launched, offering them and their family members priority access to appointments with a licensed clinical social worker.

Three DAISY Awards were given to extraordinary nurses, caregivers were recognized with Spirit of Care Awards, and we also gave out the first annual Greatest Catch Award for safety.

About 65% of caregivers participated in the anonymous 2024 Caregiver Engagement Survey in November. We met our 2024 target of 90% of caregivers recommending CMH as a place to work and are encouraged by the progress with that metric.
