Reflecting on 2024
Starting a new year is always an exciting time. I want to take time to look back on the progress we made together in 2024 and share my excitement for the opportunities that are ahead in 2025.
The past year was one of significant growth and accomplishment for CMH. We worked hard to strengthen our commitment to safety, quality care and community impact. Some of our biggest achievements included:
- The rollout of High Reliability Organization (HRO) principles, along with continuous training and safety initiatives that enhanced our ability to provide high-quality care.
- The launch of the Patient Connection Center, which changed our approach to centralized scheduling, improving both patient access and experience.
- Diversity, equity and inclusion updates through Cerner, including the addition of patient pronouns and preferred names in our systems, helping to create a more inclusive and respectful environment for those we serve.
- Groundbreaking for the BuildCMH Expansion Project, which took place in October, with site utility work in progress and new caregiver parking lots available to support the growth of our facilities and resources. In addition, the debt issuance to fund a large majority of the work marked a significant step forward with the project.
- The remodeling of our Specialty Clinic and the start to our Warrenton expansion.
- Provider recruitment efforts, including the addition of a new endocrinologist and new cardiologists, as well as the expansion of cardiology services to Seaside.
- Our support for the community through initiatives like the Dental Van sponsorship, providing essential dental care to underserved populations.
- Continued progress on our foundation’s capital campaign, with $5,127,506.22 raised of our $10,000,000 goal from 452 donors, including many caregiver contributions.
- Celebrating 10 years of Planetree Certification, reflecting our ongoing commitment to patient-centered care.
- Receiving two prestigious national awards: NRHA Rural Health Organization of the Year and the AHA Rural Hospital Leadership Team Award.
In 2024, we reached new milestones, strengthened our services and impacted lives in our community. In the coming year, we will continue to build on our accomplishments and improve the ways we serve our patients and each other. With our ongoing commitment to quality, safety and patient-centered care, we have a lot to look forward to!
I want to thank our caregivers and providers for all of their hard work in 2024. I am very proud to work alongside such a talented and caring team. Together, we can make 2025 our most successful year yet.
